One virtue we admire and exercise is transparency, because we know the importance of being accountable and showing the destination of our funds for the peace of mind and security of our collaborators who support us with effort and full trust.
To this end, we take care to comply fully with the law and to justify our income and expenses through audits.
No one can ignore the fact that many people, institutions and companies are reluctant to provide financial support to foundations for fear of being deceived or fear of not seeing the projects for which they have collaborated materialize. In this sense, the ideal way to overcome these insecurities and ignorance is through the publication of truthful, timely and clear information using various communication channels: from magazines, through reports to the dissemination of news about the activities on the website.
As an organization, we feel the obligation to communicate what we aspire to, what we receive, what we do and what we grant. Even when collaborators or beneficiaries do not demand information, we feel the need to publish it in order to guarantee the vote of confidence of everyone, including potential allies.
Some examples of the ways in which we provide information include:
Transparency is a fundamental value. We could conceive it as the x-ray that reveals the information that sustains and gives life to the foundation. Being transparent is a responsibility that implies loyalty and prudence towards those who have trusted us either to provide us with resources or to receive important help from us. The members and volunteers of IC Cares move and work together to follow the path that leads to the achievement of our objectives without dissociating themselves from the values that are the backbone of the institution. These plausible behaviors reinforce donor confidence and promote new support. Being transparent, loyal and prudent with the use of resources certainly makes us more efficient, reliable and proactive.
It is extremely important to monitor and verify that the funds were well spent through the work of the corporation, which will gather videos, invoices, photos and interviews.
With respect to the collaborations we provide, we are in charge of following up and verifying that the funds we grant were well used, through the collection of videos, invoices, photos and interviews. It should be noted that the support we provide is given to constituted organizations and not to individuals.
As a foundation, we help the collective, not just one person in particular. With respect to this point, the contribution must respond to a need that falls within one of the five areas or categories in which our foundation is based and the selection of the case cannot be made with favoritism or personal interests of those who have the duty to choose. On the contrary, we seek to provide contributions whose uses utilize the development and advancement of the community.
The beneficiary organization must be legally recognized and registered as an NGO, as a scientific, educational, sports or rescue non-profit institution.
As part of the commitment and accountability, the organization that will benefit from the donations must present a feasible and effective action plan, including a realistic and appropriate budget. The results should be measurable and verifiable.
The strategic plan should contain specific goals, objectives, strategies and activities. It must have an integrated staff and / or a competent and trained volunteer to carry out its works. It is also in the duty to demonstrate that they have the necessary structure to manage resources with responsibility, honesty and transparency. In such a way that they can make the respective accountability after the contribution is made.
It is important to take stock of the results of the actions taken thanks to the donation.
Each case selected must be accompanied by planning that can be shown to be sustainable over the long term. Likewise, the proposal must include the history, testimonials and documents that support that what is being requested is initially intended for a real plan.
The work of the organization must be congruent and compatible with the mission and vision of our foundation: To extend a helping hand to the most vulnerable and unprotected people and animals, so that they can improve their situation and reach an optimal development.
As a foundation we want to ensure that those selected receive the technical, administrative and financial support required to accomplish their tasks. Ideally, the team will establish strong working relationships with government and non-profit actors, as well as community leaders and academics. This networking function will ensure that all stakeholders are engaged in proposing and implementing the changes envisioned and needed.
They must demonstrate that they have the necessary structure to manage the resources with responsibility, honesty and transparency, in such a way that they can make the respective accountability after the contribution is made.
We are the philanthropic association derived from IC Corporation. Our main objective is to provide non-profit support to all those institutions, associations and organizations whose efforts and causes contribute to help the most destitute in various settings.
